Holds Pleasant Afternoon Meeting With “Mrs. Charles A. Holloway; Resolution Pertaining to Proposed City Hall is Drafted A very pleasant meeting of the Woman's Improvement Club = was held Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Charles A. Holloway. In the absence of the president, Miss Lillian Lewis presided. The program for the afternoon was in charge of Miss Stella Platt. The entire program dealt with the advancement of woman. After a few preliminary remarks Miss Platt called upon Mrs. R. R. Root who gave an excellent review of the book ‘‘Marie Claire” by Mar garite Audoux. Miss Lillian Lewis read a paper Prepared by Mrs. W. M. Dean. The papers was based on Olive Shisner's “Woman and Labor” but contained much personal comment by the writ er. The beautiful story ‘Three Dreams in a Desert” by Olive Shiener was read by Miss Stella Platt. “David Graham Philips’ Arraign ment of the American Woman” was the topic’ ably considered by ‘Mrs. John P. Key. . At the close of the program a lively discussion of the panels took place. The subject of the proposed city hall also came up for discussion. The ladies seemed to be unanimous in their opinion that the city hall building should conform in material and simplicity with the public li brary building . On motion a com mittee was appointed to draw up a resolution recommending to the City Board of Trustees that such a build ing be constructed. After the meeting many of the ladies lingered to wander through the beautiful grounds of the Hollo wway Nursery.
