People are busy painting and lime-washing, preparing Ibcir little bonscs for summer tenants, of whom quite a number is expected wfcen the fine weather sets in. Every one is getting their ground ready for the variousceeds, as an early summer is anticipated,,The Church of England people are engaged building a tower (o their church, an iin* proveracnt that was much needed, us the frame the bell hung from wan getting rotten, so it was decided to bniltl a tower and hang the bell in It. The work is going on rapidly under the supervision of Mr. SamuelChurchill, who is well known around this bay asA Skilled Builder. He erected several churches in his time all of which display good workmanship. Manuels bridge, built by him, is a proof of the substantial character of his work. For twenty years the rain has descended, the floods have swept, and the winds have blown and beaten upon that bridge, bnt it has stood, because it was well built. The February freshet which carried away so many new bridges hurt it not. Now I will say a few more words about the tower. The church, as no doubt you arc aware, is a few hundred yards away from the main road, surrounded by large trees and hidden from view. Strangers are often forced to enquire where it is, bnt when the spire is finished itwill be seen from almost any part of the place, as it will be thirty feet over the roof.
