The water was not two feet .deep, and though a man on Seeing him 8£ 5® S»« river, hut a short distance off, has-taaodt* him, he_was dead before he could Wiesadhed: and the efforts of Dr. Burr for an hour to resuscitate him proved unavailing. He was very drunk at the time, and probably resorted to annnnsual quantity of liquor to accelerate his;death. He was the day before turned out of a house, and himself and family consisting of a wife' and three children, thrown on the Streets.. We understandthat' in consequence of .-threat-ning injuty to qthers, .a warrant was issued against him and 'he was bound over to hteep the peace. He was an ; American,aboat 47 years old, and had followed for■ • ' *some time past the business of sawittg wood.
