College In Annual Observance Of Mothers DavMothers and guardians of Clark students in the city of Atlanta and neighboring communities within a radius of 50 miles were honored at the annual Mothers' Day observance sponsored by the Personnl Department in Davage Auditorium Sunday afternoon, May 10 at 4:00 o’clock. Yearly, the College anticipates the warm fellowship which this day affords in honoring the mothers and in recounting the privilege theC ollege has in working with so many mothers in the continued development of its sons’ and daughters’ minds and spirits.In tribute to the mothers, a pla-let by Mary Clark Tipps was per-lormcd. The introduction to the playlet, ‘Thy Word Is a Lamp/’ was given by Miss Theresa Parks, class of '54. Centra] figures in the pi iy-let were Miss Celestine Brcwn of Philadelphia. Pa., who played the iol,e of Mother Stafford; and Miss Jeannette Reynolds, Miami, Florida, who was cast as Marpory Stafford. The production staff included,Mrs. Ramona Harte, Misses Vera Hale, Isabella Taylor, Terah Ann Whitten. Marjorie Ball, Juanita Fowler. Vivian Vaughn, Juanita Gideons, and Miss Esther Jackson.Greeting's to all mothers and visitors were extended by Washington Butler, senior, and president of the Clark College Student Council. Acknowledgments were recognized by Dean of Women Phoebe Burney.Other principals on the program included Theodore Matthews and Cnell Smith.
