,Mrs. Louis Smith and son, Lou is Jr., and nephew, Lindsay Don nellan, of Deep River, spent Sat urday with Mrs. Smith’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Donnellan. James Coughlin is ill with pneu monia at his home. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schlag of Hartford have rented the Bates bungalow in Middle Haddam. Mrs. Schlag is the former Miss Marcella Hayden of this place. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stewart have moved from the Murray Tay lor place to the house on the old Middletown road formerly occu pied by Robert Ostergren. James Conghren has returned to Portland after spending eight weeks at Cobalt Lodge. Mrs. Ellen Matthewson of Dur ham returned to her home on Sun day after spending the winter at Cobalt Lodge Miss Sarah Sturges of Middle town is spending the week at Co balt Lodge. Mrs. Eva Goff spent the week end in Bristol with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. George Withey, and Mrs. Carrie Clark and Miss Maude Clark of East Hampton at tended a play, “Excuse Me,” in Glastonbury Friday evening. On Saturday Mrs George With ey and Mrs. Osborne Alden at tended the observance of the 117th anniversary of the founding of Odd Fellows in Hartford.
