S.VYGSMALL BOY RUN OVER WITH A FORDr~Little Clarence Beard Ran Directly in Front of Passing Automobile Driven by John Vian.Saturday afternoon little Clarence, the five old son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Beard, who reside northeast of town, had a close call when he ran directly in front of a Ford being driven by John Vian on North Wayne street. The little boy was standing by his father who was in front of Day's hardware store and as he discovered his mother in front of Leas’ store the little one started to dash across the street just as John Vian was driving through town and coming from the south. Mr. Vian did not see the boy until the wheel struck him, as there were a number of cars parked along the west side of the street and but a few feet from where Mr. Vian was driving.The front wheel struck the child and knocked him down, the wheel passing over his head, snd the rear wheel passed over his abdomen. He was picked up and taken to Dr. Vance’s office where an examination was made and it was found that he was considerably bruised but no bones were broken.Aside from a swollen face and a few bruises on the body he was not seriously injured, there being no broken bones. It was a very close call.f
