A row between neighbor’s children has resulted in the parents being brought in court. I. S. Pavcy recently bought from J. T. Chevalier a farm situated about six miles southeast of this city. The two men havebeen living with their families in thesame house for sometime past. A day or so ago their children engaged in a quarrel and a warrant was sworn out y ester nay for assault and battery. Friday another charge filed by Chevalier against Pavy for assault and battery!Mrs. Kosmer Neustifter, accompanied by her little child, a girl, in a fit of despondency left her home last Friday, and-up to the present time her whereabouts as well as those of her child, has not been discovered. Her husband, who, by the by, has on several occasions been before the police judge for drunkenness and for beating this same woman, went to Lawrence, well loaded with tangle-foot, and loudly proclaimed that he would make it “hot” for any one who would harbor his wife and child. Mrs. Neustifter is described as a small, heavy set woman, light complexion, and at the time of her disappearance wore a dotted calico dress. She has on several occasions made complaint about the brutal treatment to which she was subjected by her husband, and after his arrest she relented and refused to prosecute.—Eudora News.
