MARJORIE ALICE MULFORDa*Marjorie Alice Mulford was born at Strawberry Point on April 17, 1919, the daughter of Irving and Bernice Smith Burgin. She lived tier childhood in Strawberry Point and graduated from the High School. Then she attended and graduated from Business School in Cedar Rapids after which she went to work for Wilson and Co.Marjorie was united in marriage to Galen Mulford at Independence on December 14, 1949. They made their home on the farm north east of Winthrop. She was a member of the Church of Christ Untited at Winthrop.Marjorie Mulford entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 22, 1977, following a lengthy illness. She was 57 years of age.She is survived by her husbandGalen, five sons- Charles'Smith ofBoise, Idaho; William Smith of Dubuque; Michael Mulford, Marty Mulford, and Leslie Mulford all three of Winthrop; one daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. Dennis Hansen) of Solon; six grandchildren, and one brother Robert Burgin of Tulsa, Oklahoma.Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday March 25, 1977 at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop with Rev. Russell Rassmussen officiating. Interment was in the Fremont Township Cemetery. The Fawcett Funeral Home of Winthrop was in charge of arrangements.
