The First Southern Baptist Church, 528 W. Duarte Road, Mon rovia, has set April 17-24 as the time for their spring evangelistic effort. Most of the 33,000 South ern Baptist Churches in the Uni ted States will hold similar meet ings, at this time. Dr. Olie T. Brown, dean of students at Cali fornia Baptist College in River side, will be the vengelist for the week. Dr. Brown has done work at West Texas State College, US.C., and California State Col lege at Los Angeles. He did his seminary work at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Brown has been a leader in Southern Bap tist work in California for many years. Wendell Priebe, minister of music of the First Southern Bap tist Church, will conduct the musical program during the week. Pastor, Ed H. Peery Jr., has noted that evangelistic efforts of this type are still one of the best avenues used to reach new people with, the message of Christianity. Regular services of the church are Sunday School 9:45 ad morn ing worship at 11:00. The regular Sunday evening schedule of serv ices includes Training Union at 6:30,and worship at 7:30. A nur sery is provided for all children 3 years of age and under at all the services of the church, a reminder that he should be willing to suffer anything, even insults and death, in defense of his faith, out of love for Christ.
