Daniel E. Carbaugh Hit By Auto On Western Pike Week Ago Daniel E. Carbaugh, 64-year-old Hopewell man, died at Washington County Hospital yesterday morning for injuries sustained when he was Struck by a car on the Western Pike last Saturday evening. Suffering a compound skull frac ture, fractures of both ankles, and multiple cuts and bruises, he had remained on the hospital’s critical list ever since the accident. He died at a. m. yesterday. State troopers who investigated the accident said Carbaugh was knocked 35 feet by a car driven by Harold Brett Morris of Bellaire, Texas. The accident occurred while Carbaugh was crossing the Western Pike at Hopewell, short ly after nine o'clock last Satur day night. , Daniel Espy Carbaugh was the son of the late David R. and Maria King Carbaugh. Surviving are: sisters. Mrs. Lil y Van Hose. Clear Spring; Mrs. Annie, Gordon, Broadfording: brothers. Frank E. and McKinley, Broad fording, Henry W., Hagerstown, and Obern M., Williamsport; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Norment Funeral Home here| |Monday at 11 a. m. by Rev. Dr. William Norment, Burial in Broad fording Cemetery. Friends may call out the funeral home after 3 p. m. j today.
