Early in the even-1 ing an odor of smoke had been no-s •ticed but no investigation was made.J*MChfoirAbout eight o’clock as one of the family went up stairs the fire was discovered and had gained much headway. It had probably originated from a flue. P In a few minutes the entire roof and second story of the house was inr •^ flames and it became evident that an attempt to save the house would be fruitiest;. Neighbors kindly aided in rescuing furniture and valuables and formed a bucket brigade and in this way saved the adjoining buildings. Almost everything of value on the js first floor was saved. Valuable papers, s clothing, pictures and art materialswhich were on the second floor were✓s destroyed. The building was com-IS pletely destroyed. Mr. Wilson is ma k ing plans for rebuilding.
