I have a large family, and my wife is in a dying state, butthey treated me like a dog.Mr. Gregorie—If the overseers would not assist you why did ypunot apply to the magistratesofthe district?Prisoner— Oh, no,I do not like to trouble those sort of gentlemen. My landlord is outside and can prove the truth of my statement. I hope you will be lenient to me, as I am very ill, and my poor little wife is dying.Mr. Gregorie told him that his landlord must go to the parish', and represent the state of his family, and they would be relieved.
