Bill Golden of Sun Valley, California, known simply as “Maverick” to the drag racing world, will thrill Kansas City race fans with the fabled ‘Little Red Wagon” Sunday at Kansas City International Raceway. “Maverick” who currently holds the world wheelstand ing record at 3265 feet will make three attempts to better his own record at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. Sunday. The “Little Red Wagon” now sporting experimental disc brake guiding system was designed to enable “Maver ick” to guide his Dodge Truck while the front wheels are in the air. “Maverick” claims the new braking system will allow him to cover distances up to 4,000 feet without the front touch ing the ground. Also slated to be appearing will be over 500 dragsters, roadsters, hot rods and stock cars competing in open com petition. Kansas City International Raceway is located five miles south of I-70 at 8201 Noland Road.
