ROSS (SYLVANUS) HOOPERMass was said for Ross (Syl-vanus) Hooper, 59, of 744 N. Pine, Thursday in Our Lady Help of Christians church. Interment was in Queen of Heaven cemetery.Mr. Hooper died March 21 in Loretto hospital following a long illness. A bookbinder for John F. Cuneo for 34 years, he had lived in Austin for 25 years.A member of Portage Park Moose lodge 220, Mr. Hooper was also a member of the Help of Christians Holy Name society. He served as cubmaster of pack 3368 sponsored by the church. A Democratic precinct captain, he was also a block captain.The widow, Bernice, survives as well as three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Mielecki, Mrs. Beverly Patterson and Mary Beth; two sons, Brother Gregory Raimond, F.S.C., and 3rd 1C BTFM Gregory, U.S.N., two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Whiteside, Tryon, N.C., and Mrs. Gladys Matthew, Kirkwood, Mo., and 13 grandchildren.
