At a meeting held Wednesday night at which a large number of the repre sentative citizens of the town in which there were a large proportion of busi ness and professional men and wo men present, discussed the matter of the coming election and derided — to place a ticket in the field that had proven business capacity, and who were favorable to the improvement of our water system. No one aspired to any position and each suggestion of candidates was met with instant re fusal, altho there was a unanimous agreement on policy, no one wanted to assume the labor and responsibility of carrying it out. This situation was remedied by the meeting drafting five men and pleading with them until their opposition was overcome. The result was as follows: For Mayor: Co. C. MUMMA For Trustees: Cc. C. CULPEPPER E. P. WOODS V. M. ODELL HARRY CC. BALDWIN The spirit behind this ticket is to keep our town moving forward with out division among ourselves, living up to the reputation that others are now giving us, that “Farmington is a town made up of people, who when they want anything, they go after it and keep after it, until they get it.” Community division leads to noth ing but disaster. Community coopera tion makes possible the accomplish ment of “all human desires and con quers every foe save death.”
