The teams, consisting of five entries and three starters, set off •at ten o’clock. This is the first race j of n classic event which will hereof! • r be one of Xetiana’s annual affairs. On this occasion, however, the racers had only seven days for preparation. and no notable records were expected. The weather was ideal, with bright sunshine and very little wind. The rnco was won by Hill Shannon with his team of sevenclogs. Shannon came in riding, the distance having been made in 4 ihours. 37 minutes. The second team jof five dogs made it in 5 hours, 1 ! minute. Stevens, with nine dogs, 1came in a poor third.
