Our road being a second class road the passenger rate wil be 4 cents per mile to Pacific and from Pacific to St. Louis, 3 cents per mile, making in all $4,15 for a ticket to St. Louis. Thus is a reduction of $1,35 from old rates. In freight the most change is in agricultural machinery, cord wood, c.—We would like to ask the Herald man how $550 to $600 would run our school two or three months and pay six month’s interest at ten per cent on $30,350,00. of bonded debt. The interest alone would amount to $1,517,50.
