Lions To Erect Street Signs They PurchasedMembers of the Mokena Lions club have several busy days a-head. Theirs is the job of erecting the new street signs for the village of Mokena. They not only purchased the signs but agreed to install them. There are 53 locations and since each of the steel poles at these intersections will support signs that can be read 212 ways, the Lions have a bit of work to do.The signs have green backgrounds and white lettering and beading so they will be seen by car light at night. To finish paying for these signs the Lions will conduct a house-to-house campaign selling house numbers. The post-office has not changed its mind about Mokena and still says no to home mail delivery here, it was said, but numbering the homes will make it easier for mercantile firms to make deliveries, it was pointed out, and should the postoffice department change its mind the community would be ready.
