Their fourteen ye son went to the room and alle_ saw his father armed with a pea-rifle. He ran next door to Mr. H. J. Cooksley’s house, calling for help, but in the meantime, a shot was fired and shortly afterwards Mrs. Rushby followed the boy in next door.The Police and Ambulance were called and Mrs. Rushby was transported to the Moree District Hospital in a critical condition.Her husband. Clarence Walter Rushby (48), who is reported to have shot himself shortly after shooting his wife, was found dead in the lane-way at the rear of the house, with a bullet through his temple, and his wrist slashed.It is believed that certain letters were found at the scene of the shooting.An inquest will be held on a date to be arranged.The bodies were interred in the Church of England portion of the cemetery. Rev. B. Thomas conducting the services. Mr. Rushby’s funeral took place on Thursday, whilst Mrs. Rushby’s was conducted on Saturday.
