Doubly Afflicted.Mr. nuil Mrs. S. J. ltoot lmve been called upon again, for the second time in only a few months, to mourn the sudden death of one of their loved ones —this time little “Fannie,” who died after only a few hours sickness last Friday morning, March 22nd. lie was taken sick with membranous croup at about 12 o’clock 011 Thursday night, and in spite of all that loving hands and medical skill could do, died at 5 o’clock the next morning.Palmer Root was born at Webster City, Iowa, in 1S78, and died Friday, March 22nd, 18S9,—age eleven years.— The funeral was held at the family residence Saturday afternoon and was very largely attended by friends and neighbors. Mr. and Mrs. Hoot surely have the warmest sympathies of all our people in this, the second affliction, that has come to them in less than a year.
