With the assistai ce of patients able to assist, 1 repaired and put in order, as well as could be, the log house on the premises, aud used the separate quarters for above purpose The patients got along very well, though suffering severely from vacciia. On February 24, 1888, Captain Colby, master of schooner Coarser, brought one John Logan, his second mate, that had been exposed to intictiou on the vessel, before me for examination. I found that the mnu was broken out with small pox, that lie had fever and was slightly delirious I immediately took him to the po t house. Thereupon, by order of the Hoard of Health, I telegraphed quarantee of ve.-stl to Pori Discovery, where vessel then was.February 25, 1888, 1 proceeded to Discovery and, bv order of Hoard of Health, quarantined vessel for tive days and until relieved. The case of John Logan, second mate, continued in its developments into continent small-poxOn March 8, 1888, I discharged Peterson from Pest House; Jones and SnlevlisliViili1o8IIIItlClpsiFuVlibbP\vmconvalescing.E!
