Committee to oversee Arbor Park revampThe Town Council decided recently the Riverwalk Committee would oversee the Arbor Park project, which includes bus-stop renovations and adding a new information kiosk. The council reviewed the park’s 12-year history in the process. The park was the site of Town Hall from 1847 to 1987 when a fire destroyed the building. Formally known as the Lamprey River Park, the park, commonly called Arbor Park, was built in 1996. I,ast fall, renovations began on the park using part of a $20,000 grant from COAST that included community-matching funds from Timberland and the Newmarket Gardeners.
