The Sul Ross Lobos put on an impressive offensive attack March 16 at Kobernot Field to come back in the sixth inning and grab a win against Central Arizona College. The 13-8 score is the highest point production for Sul Ross this season. Sul Ross trailed going into the bottom half of the sixth inning, when catcher Bob Jarrett led things off with a slicing single to left. The Lobos followed Jarrett’s lead by pounding out seven hits, taking three walks, and coming away with 11 runs to raise the score to 13-7 in favor of the Lobos. Brett Parker led the Lobos at the plate going three for five with a double and five RBIs. Centerfielder Tuti Moreno went three for three with one RBI and reached base two more times via the Central Arizona error. On the mound for Sul Ross was Wall High School product Rowdy Brown. Brown was hit hard in the third and fourth innings, giving up seven runs on 11 hits. Brown was credited with four strikeouts and the win. He held Central scoreless in his last two innings. Johnny Guerrero came on in the seventh inning after the Sul Ross rally in the sixth. He let one run by, but managed to shut down the Arizona team’s offense and preserve the Lobo win.
