ELMER GIBBS MARRIEDMrs. Matilda Gibbs, of this city, has received a recent copy of the “City Sentinel” of Indiana Harbor, from her daughter, Mrs. Robert Hacker, that gives a detailed account of the recent marriage on .Friday, March 8, at 3 p. m., of Miss Ruth Van Scyoc, of Park Manor, to Elmer Gibbs, as-. sistant night superintendent of Plant No. 2 of the Island Steel Co., of Indiana Harbor. Mrs. Robert Hacker, of Indiana Harbor, Ed. White of the same place, and the Missie Goldie and Ora Blanche Gibbs, of East Chicago, were familiar names among the guests. About thirty-five guests were present. The wedding took place in Park Manor at the home of the bride. Miss Mildred Brown was bridesmaid and Ed. White, the best man. An elegant wedding breakfast followed the ceremony, the guests being seated at three tables. The favors were wedding bells tied to cards with bits of white ribbon. Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs will make their future home in Park Manor. The bride was becomingly dressed in white silk with net, with full tulle veil caught with a wreath of 'lilies of the valley and orange blossoms. The wedding and been planned for March 1, but a serious accident to Elmer, resulting in a broken ankle, delayed affairs and at the time of the wredding his foot was still in a plaster cast. The bride, although a stranger to Lacon people, is spoken of as a charming young woman of a most pleasing personality, and Elmer, born and raised in La-con, is the eldest son of Charles Gibbs, and is a young man of clean habits, and an industrious turn of mind. On account of his uprightness of character, he is a favorite with everyone and the Journal, with many other friends, extends congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs.
