Liverpool, O., the following article about a well known local basketball player appeared. East Liverpool is Mr. Rigby's home town and started his career there as a: basketball player:“Dick Rigby, one of the best basketball placers who ever played under amateur rules and probably the! cleanest basketball player who ever' went on a basketball r.oor, ;t player ■vyho was never known to use any unnecessary roughness in basketball began Ills career with the famous local Young Men’s Christian Association aggregation of 190?.. ’04 and ■Qo. For three seasons Rigby played with the Young Men's Christian Association team, playing forward, center and guard,' but was most feared at forward Rigby played a star game in alt the positions and was considered to be the best player on the team . After playing for three seasons on the Young Men’s Christian Association team Rigby, in the autumn of 1905 went to the Ohio] State University. Rigby easily gained1-a position on the Varsity team and ! with his presence. Ohio State became one of the fastest college teams in th'c country, being one of tho few college teams that could hold their own with the fast Allegheny College team. Rigby played on the Ohio State team • for four seasons and was the star player of the team.Last season Rigby played on lie Clarksburg Scholastics of West Virginia and was picked as a forward I on the all star basketball team of West Virginia.
