Y. M. C. A.An Enthusiastic Meeting Held .Yesterday. !Yesterday moriling all the churches of the city united in a grand union service at t lie Presbyterian church, in the interest of the young Mens’ ChnstiaD Association. The auditorium and gal lery of the church were simply crowd- j ed, many being compelled to stand.The meeting was called |to order by G. N. Bierce, of Dayton- After singing by the choir, ti- K. Wood gave a history of the Y. M. G- A. movement in this city. After Mr. Wood had , made a brief talk, Mr. Bierce made a abort address. The congregation united in singing, after which, Walter For-dyce, J. Frank Groff andT. G. Bolger made very interesting talks on the Y, M. C. A., from the stand point of young men. The speakers emphasized the need of a home in this city where the young men would feel free to spend their leisure hours.C. Jj. Wood,= G. 11. Rundle, L. Leonard and Dr. C- VV. Bennett spoke from the stand poiut of business men and explained how it would be a good investment for a business man to make.Rev. E. T. Wells, and Dr. A. N. Carson then made brief addresses on behalf of the pastors of the city. Rev. W- II. Mevers offered a very fervent prayer after which the subscriptions were taken.Col. W. 1*. Orr headed the list with $750.Tne S500 pledges were as follows: L. Leonard, G. H. Bundle, C. L-Wood, Mrs. B. Slauson, Mrs. Harriet Statler, W. S. Statler.The $300 pledges were II. It. Wood,D- Spencer, A. G. Snyder.$200 pledges, Dr. O. W. Bennett, Geo.C. Williams.$150 pledges, C- F. ltankin, W. A. Snyder, W. It. Boal, and A. M. Orr.A telegram was received at this point from Mrs. W. P. Orr, and Mrs.L. Leonard, stating that they would give $100 each providing eight other ladies would do the same. The fol- , lowing ladies responded with S100 pledges, Mrs. Kate Leonard, Mrs. G- H.
