COURT KKW8.Ciiso* Ti IhI, Continued, .Settled, Ktc.M'kkckr, Pa., March 26, 1889, Editor Advance Argus :The March term of the Court of Common Pleas of Mercer county, opened on Monday morning; last with his honor, Judge Mehard, on the bench. After the usual preliminaries had been dispensed with and the jury roll bad been called, a jury was empanelled and the last case 011 the list, Archibald Hill vs, Samuel Thoman and Sarah Linn, was taken up for trial. This case was an appeal by the defendant from the judgment of the J. P, of Sharon. Samuel Thoman rented a larm from the plaintiff, Archibald Hill, Sarah Linn's name appearing in the contract as security for Thoman. About a year ago Thoman left for parts unknown, leaving his rent unpaid and nothing behind with which to liquidate it. Action was then brought before a Justice of the Peace in Sharon against the security, Mrs. Linn. She now denies ever signingthe article (she signed by making hermark), and refuses to pay the rent in arrears. The jury took the case Monday evening and returned Tuesday morning with a verdict in favor of the defendant.Pit A tl a w f no mi on It., .4 _ t . . . . _ .1 ,
