M. Ocampo, of Garden City, was*elected president to succeed Mrs.J. Harold Mulherin. Other officers elected were Mrs. Nell De-vine, first vice president: Mrs. C.J. Goodyear, of Brunswick, second vice president; Mrs. S. D-Ninimer, of Blackshear, third vice president; Mrs. W. C. Broderick, recording secretary; Mrs. T. K. Joyce, treasurer. The committee on nominations was headed by Mrs. William E. Hines.,The meeting was held at the Savannah Beach Town llall, with representatives from Brunswick.St. Simon’s Island, Waycross and Savannah attending. The hallwas attractively decorated withtrailing vines and a profusion ofspring flowers. Later in the afternoon the members of St. Michael’s Parish Council, Savannah Beach, headed by Miss Margaret Shea, president, were hostesses at a tea.Mi's. Mulherin. the retiring president, gave an interesting report of the activity of the Deanery Council during the year, in which she listed as outstanding achievements the Solemn High Mass offered at the Cathedral in Savannah on May Day, for t he conversion of Russia; the city-wide drive to rid newsstands of indecent literature; the monthly, shipments of clothing to War Relief Services, National Welfare Council; theCana Copfefence.Monsignor T. James McNamara, rector of the Cathedral of St. JohnHie Baptist, who spoke at the meeting. complimented Mrs. Mulherin on t lie splendid work done by the Cpuneil under her leadership.Chairmen of standing committees who subnrltccl reports were: Mrs. John /.
