Services Held For Mrs. Marie WalkerServices were conducted Wednesday at the Little Church of the Roses in Glen Abbey for Mrs. Marine Sheldon Walker, 45, who died Sunday as a result of a fall.Mrs. Walker will be particularly missed by the children of the community, for she had spent many hours in the past six years teaching the younger generation to ride. A horsewoman of great ability herself; Mrs. Walker trained children yearly at the gymkhana at the riding club and was most active in the annual horse shows. At the time of her death, she was planning the annual Easter gymkhana for children.In her hands were all the business details of the riding stables, * managed by James Walker, her husband.Mrs. Walker was born in Manchester, Iowa, and spent the early years of her life at Wheaton, Illinois, where she was married in 1915. During the next few years, when polo was at its height, the Walkers made several trips to Coronado, coming to Yuma, Arizona in 1919. In 1935 they began residence in Coronado.Mrs. Walker leaves a husband, James Walker; a daughter, Mrs. John Tiedemann; son James, of Portland, and George, 16, of Coronado; a mother, Mrs. Bessie Shelden, of Los Angeles, and four brothers, Frank Sheldon of Los Angeles, J. C. Shelden of Oakland, John Shelden of Vallejo and W. C. Shelden and a sister, Eleanor Shelden. Mrs. Shelden will remain indefinitely at the Walker home.Mrs. Walker was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s club of Coronado.
