A Bold HoldupFYom Brookdii) Budget.Last Friday nt mid*night Jay Walker, who has an artificial leg, was held np on the Main street sidewalk along side of the railroad park between the Q Pharmacy and the tracks, Two men undertook the job, and when Walker realized what they were trying to do he showed fight. Thereupon they knocked him down, blacking bis eye and kicking his stub leg, but getting only a dollar of his money.At this point Night [Marshal Kent appeared and captured one of Walker’s assailants , butsubdued liim ouly after a lively fight. The other one Of the pair made his escape, Otto Dorrell of Laclede, who was arrested for the offense, spent the remainder of the night in the holdover and was taken to the county jail to await his preliminary trial which is set Thursday.
