FRESNO (AP) — Authorities tried to determine Friday if a prison camp escapee slain execution-style was the 2th victim here of Mexican-American gang warfare. ‘The men who shot Robert Dean Fuller, 27, three times in the face on a sidewalk Thursday night were described as Mexican-Americans in their mid 30s. Even though Fuller was an Anglo, police were investigating the possibility that he was involved with the Mexican Mafia, one of two gangs police blame for 1 killings since last fall in a struggle for contraf narcotics in Central Cali fornia. Records at Sierra Conservation Center a Jamestown indicate Fuller may have been involved with the Aryan Brotherhood, a neo- Naxi group which has affiliations with the Mexican Mafia, said Ron Frickey, camp supervisor. Fuller had been linked to nar cotics in Fresno and was involved in a racial incident while being processed at Chino State Prison after his commitment in May 1935, penal records show. He was sen tenced to prison on a first-degree robbery conviction from Fresno County involving use of a firearm. Fuller escaped March 13 from Growlersburg Conservation Camp in El Dorado County, a minimum security facility supervised by Sierra Conservation Center. No arrests were reported tn connection with his killing, but po lice said eight people now are in custody in connection with five earlier homicides. THE LATEST arrests were of two San Jose men police believe are members of Nuestra Familia, rivals to the Mexican Mafia for control of criminal activity. Arturo Rodriguez Serrato, 24, was arrested Thursday in Salinas for investigation of murder in the Phoatiy death of Guadalupe Gar cia, 34, on Feb. 3. And Larry Adame, 23, was arrested Monda for investigation of the Jan. 6 kill ing of Lupe Venegas, 25, also be lieved to have been a Nuestra Familia member.
