ager of the Bi-Lo Market in Fairbury for a number of years, passed away March 23, 1953, in an Omaha, Nebr., hospital, at the age of 42 years, 2 months and 5 days. He had been in ill health for several years. Richard Johnson Hopkins was born at Oskaloosa, Iowa, Jan uary 18, 1911. On November 22, 1934 he married Vivian Stufft at Smith Center, Kansas. To them five children were born, all of whom are living in Fair bury. In February, 1935, he came to Fairbury, where he managed the Bi-Lo Market for a number of years. He united with the Church of the Nazarene in Fairbury, June 15, 1939. Surviving are his wife, Vivian; three sons Richard L., Robert D., and Rodney R., and two daughters, Vivian Lee and Way Jean, all of Fairbury. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Gladys i Pol lock of Holdrege, Nebr., three nephews and friends. _ Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Church of the Nazarene with the pastor, Rev. Donald Owens, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury cemetery. Traum ser vices Land Near Powell Sold Wallace C. Stewart, Orville H ems and Guy .D. Fairbury, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday, March 25, 1953, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 18 days. She had been in ill health for some time. Mary Ellinor Crawford, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Crawford, was born April 7, 1877. Mrs. Crawford, affection ately called by her associates, “Aunt Jennie,” operated a boarding house in the’ ga! home west of the light and water plant, which was a gath ering place for the young people of Fairbury. Miss Crawford attended the Fairbury schools and was a clerk in the McDonnell's department store, later going to Beatrice where she clerked in the C. E. Smith Dry. Goods store for about 30 years, always spend ing her weekends here in Fair bury with her relatives. In later years she made her home in Fairbury with her brother, Frank Crawford, sis ter, Emma Stark and husband, Ernest Stark, caring for them in their last illness. She made many friends among the patients in local hospitals, visit ing them as she cared for her relatives. Survivors in Fairbury include a cousin, Sterling Pickering. Dis tant relatives are expected to arrive from Illinois this (Thurs day) evening. __ Funeral services will be held at two o'clock. Friday after noon at the Nucholls chapel with Rev. A. W. Johnson, pastor of the Methodist church, offi ciating. Burial will be in the Fairbury cemetery.
