Bryant, USMC, son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bryant of Isle of Wight County ,has been reported missing in action in Korea.Miss f Ethel Geneva Chapman, daughter of the late Cornelius H. and Mrs. Hannah Godwin Chapman, died Thursday, March 19th, in Oblci Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, after a long illness.A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a member of the Isle of Wight Christian Church.Surviving are four sisters, Mrs, T. L. Pierce, of Baltimore; Mrs. Zella C. Jones of Smithfleld: Mrs. Daisy C. Jordan, of Chuckatuck, and Mrs. Marion C. Hebditch of Havre de Grace, Md.Funeral services were conducted at 3 P. M. in the Central Hill Church Cemetery, Isle of Wight County. by Dr^ I. W. Johnson _of Suffolk, assisted by the Rev. N. G. Newman of Chuckatuck, and the Rev. Ellis Clark, pastor of the Isle of Wight Christian Church.The funeral procession left the Jones Funeral Home at 2:30 P. M. Nephews served as pallbearers! They were Jack Jones* Tom Chris -tian Jr., Julian Christian, Charles H. Christian, William B. Ballard and Chapntan Ballard.The celebration of National 4-H Club Week, March 7*15, got underway fa the Southeastern District Saturday, March 7th. The winner of 4-H projects in 17 counties gathered in Petersburg, Virginia to compete for District honors.The morning session opened with various exhibits and demonstrations presented by the Club members. Included were the projects: dairy foods, food preparation, bread making, frozen foods, canning, room improvement, dress revue and clothing achievement and laundering.Isle of Wight was represented by three girls, Peggy Gwaltney, Nancy Gwaltney^and Hannah Wise Griffin who entered Food Preparation, Clothing Achievement and dress revue respectively. These contestants were awarded a red ribbon and two white ribbons respectively.As# guest cf the, Petersburg Chamber of Commerce the group was entertained at a luncheon held in the Petersburg Hotel where the blue ribbon winners.- American Legion Home ___ ^ „ Polaroid One-Minute Photo by Jenne J.
