All district residents in terested in the establishment of an airport here are urged to attend a meeting tonight in the superior court room at Globe, when a Gila County Aviation club will be orga nized. The meeting will com mence at 7:30. Benjamin A. McNelly, who was elected temporary chairman of an organization formed in Miami two weeks ago, feels that it is the duty of every citizen to join in this worthy movement for a suitable landing field, con sidering the importance of airports in every part of the country. He looks forward to a large gathering at to night’s meeting, inasmuch as great interest in an aviation field has been manifested here for some time. The proposed establishment of an airport in or near the Miami Globe district should bring, believes Mr. Mc Nelly, many citizens to the meeting for the common good of the commu nity. It is his opinion that should the available sites in this district prove unsuitable, Miami and Globe should co-operate in the laying out of a field at Cutter. He believes, however, that the Midland City field, while it does not comply with Class A requirements, would be adequate for most purposes. He points out that there are no avail able classification A fields near Miami or Globe. Lieutenant Vaughn's satisfaction with the size of the Midland City field should, believes Mr. McNelly, be suffi cient proof of its adequacy.
