20 Acres Pay 10 Per Cent, on 820,000.Six years ago L. Smitschger r bought 20 acres of land «» miles from Boise. There were 10 acres in fruit, just begining to bear, and 10 in grass. The price was $1000. He paid S100 cash, all the money he had, and got time on deferred payments, with interest at 8 per cent per annum.A house was built and other improvements have been made including a S700 evaporator; all of which have been paid for, as well as the balance on the original purchase.Last year Mr. Smitschger cleared $2000 from the 20 acre tract. He raised in addition to his orchard fruit, hay, popcorn, cabbage and poultry, and he now rides to town with his family in an ample, comfortable carriage, drawn by a span of good horses. A return equal to 10 per cent on a $20,000 investment from a 20 acre tract of land, and this in addition to many improvements paid for is a pretty good testimonial both to Mr. Smitschger’s industry and ability and to the beautiful Boise valley, the land of his adoption.
