WVVU U ^ UUU iUUUUilU^,A FINE QUALITY OF CLAY.Found lu Clay County and the Gas City Pottery In After a Corner On It.What seems to be a very fine quality of clay has been discovered in (hay county, Ind. The name of the county is very suggestive, but until jus^, recently it was not known that the clay of Clay county was of a fineness to be used in crockery. The Gas City Pottery has been experimenting with it, however, and from a sample batch recently received made four pieces of crockery which are much superior to that made from the best grade of Pennsylvania clay, which they have been using,Mr. Cox left Wednesday for Clay county with a view of closing a deal with the farmer, from whose farm the clay was taken, for a lease of the entire output. The farmer in question claims to have an inexhaustible supply of the clay, and if Mr. Cox succeeds in closing a deal with him, the Gas City Pottery will be in a position to largely control the market, or at least It will be able to save a good deal of money on raw material.
