* mortuary.The funeral of the late William Welsh, will take place from St. Patrick’s church, on Wednesday, March 26th 1879, at two o’clock p. m. Friends are invited. Mr. Welsh had reached the venerable age of 73. He was an old and good citizen of this city and a man of intelligence and principles.The funeral of Mrs. James Scanlan, Jr. on Sunday was the largest ever seen in this city. She was the daughter of Mr. Powers, one of our most respected Irish citizens and was a lady possessing every quality admirable in her sex. She leaves a young family of bright chil-| dren and a most sorely sorrowing hus-• band and friends.
