Michael Hensley, 8, 1670 Singer Ave., received a head cut and bruises around 6 p.m. Friday when he rode his bicycle into the right side of a car driven by Rachel Kendrick, 47, 1669 Howell Ave., on Mosler Ave., at Edison Ave. alley. The boy told police his brakes failed as he rode his bicycle out of the alley. He was taken to Mercy Hospital by the fire department emergency squad and dismissed after treatment. Laura Lancaster, 18, 20 Lawson Ave., suffered bruises and abrasions around 5:15 p.m. Friday when her car struck a parked car on Western Ave., near Elmont Ave. She told police she lost control of the auto when she reached for a sack of groceries on the car seat. Patrolman Charles Belcher took her to Fort Hamilton-Hughes Hospital for treatment. She was issued a citation on a charge of careless opration. The parked car is owned by Charles Arbell, 1423 Western Ave., and was damaged about the rear. Zula Rankin, 24, 80 Victory Drive, and Ginger Jean Rucker, 23, 502 Franklin St., each suf fered neck injuries in a three vehicle rear-end collision on Main St., near D St., around 4 p.m. Friday. Jesse W. Fife Jr., 30, 711 Pine St., told officers he was driving his van truck eastward on Main St. when his foot slipped off the brake pedal and his car struck the Rankin car knocking it against the Rucker car. The two women had halted their car in a traffic lane waiting for the traffic light to change.
