Nichols, of Durant, apopared in last Thursday's edition of the Jackson Daily News with the news that he had received five awards for “bravery in action and had flown top ranking General Sir H. R. Montgomery to the history-making Cassablanca conference.Lt. Crisler is the son of Mrs. Thomas O'Conner of Jackson, and the late Charles W. Crisler, Sr., Jackson attorney. Mrs. O’Conner is the former Gladys Nichols of Durant, and she and her sons are frequent visitors here with her parents.Lt. Crisler flew to Cairo, Egypt, to pick up Gen. Sir H. R. Montgomery for the Cassablanca meeting, a journey that entailed flying over hundreds of miles of enemy-held territory in the Libyan desert.
