Boyle lo quell an overheated argument yesterday afternoon between Senator .lames J.■iX'ejdl, former member of the board of works, and P. D. Sullivan. Whiting street commissioner.The conversation which took place at the regular meeting of the board of works, began calmly enough, then it grew luke-vvar, hot, much hotter, red hot until it reached a temperature of white heat at’which time the board of works stopped its meeting and with Mayor Boyle took a hand in the situation.Following are t he facts which i started the heated Xejdl-Sullivan I controversy:For the past several weeks the gas and also the telephone company has been tearing up numerous Whiting streets and alleys to put in new mains and lines.
