Frederick William Devoe, a paint and varnish manufacturer, died at his home, No. 59 Park avenue, New York Friday morning in his eighty-fifth year. He was formerly a member of the Board of Managers of the State Hospital in this city. Mr. Devoe was born in New York city on January 26, 1828. He was a director of the Market and Fulton National Bank, ex-presi dent of the board of commissioners, president of the New York Juvenile Asylum and a member of the Council of New York University since 1903, THE LATE F.
