It was necessary to amputate the lower limb again, below the knee, well that mediical skill could do, has been done by Doctors Pate and Coz, but to no avail. His death is momently expect ed. Grandma Dever, who has been in poor health for some time, is able to be out again. A good crowd from here attended the temperance rally at St. Paul church Saturday night. Mrs. John Sunman, of near Clinton, has purchased the Jesse Wells’ farm on the W. M. pike. Mayme Sievers, of Cincinnati, has been spending a few weeks with home folks, north of town. Mrs. Oma Cole, who is visiting her brother, E. L. Pendry, was quite in the latter part of the week. Isabelle Tanner and Lelia Dover attended the term concert at Moores Hill, last Thursday night. Quite a number of Democrats from Milan and vicinity attended the con vention:at Stumpkes Corner, Saturday, —Harvey Barker, of Carmel, Ind., accompanied by Chas. Horton, is can vassing the country selling machinery. Mrs. Amelia Pendry and Mrs. Oma Cole and daughter Alerne, of Benning ton, Ind., visited in Moores Sill Thurs day. Ennis M. Barney, state superintend ent, of the W. C. T. U., gave a splendid lecture at the M. E. church Friday night. T. W. Saltmarsh and Alta Paugh attended the entertainment given by the high school at Versailles last Friday night. Leo Dann and wife are moving to their new home at Pierceville. Over fifty from here attended the temperance meeting at Franklin church last Tuesday night. The session was decidedly interesting, and several good talks were given. Last Thursday evening twelve school mates of Russel Vinter’s gave him a surprise, it being his seventh anni versary. Although a victim of the memies and unable to take part in the games, he enjoyed the evening.e Th was also the eleventh birthday ofibis cousin Tommy Thompson. Jay. Mrs. Joe Owens and daughter Maude, of Milan, spent Sunday with the former’s sister, Mrs. Tom Richter. Mrs. Margie Crouch and baby left for Greensburg Monday where they will make their future home. A birthday surprise was given on Eva Koechlin Wednesday night. A dainty luncheon consisting of ice cream, cake, candy and fruit was served. Thirty guests were present and all report a fine time.
