The visitors , had a hard time finding the ball up until Hume loosened up, then they fell upon it and staged a rally which fell one short of tying the score. The game progressed slowly and in the face of a;,chilling breeze. Two hours and fifteen I minutes ^ were consumed * in playing the game.: The summary of the game by innings: •. The object of this practice is to teach the fundamentals of the game as well as to find material for the next year team.This practice is doubly important to the prospective candidate for the next year squad in that it gives him the opportunity to get -used to Coach St. Clair’s.method of coaching as well as getting the much needed practice. It will be of value to the squad in that dark horse material may be found to help fill in'the holes left by gradua-lion*this year.“Interest is continuing to grow, Paul Lindsey, student manager of basketball :said, “and anyone interested should come over to the gym at two p. m. some day.”IfStudents Employed in Work On New Quarter-MileStadium TrackThirty-five S. ,M. U. students were employed to .sift cinders, break rocks, and otherwise help to build the new’ quarter-mile track under construction at the stadium. Two caterpillars, two trucks, aaid ten dump wagon* were used in malting excavations for the track, which probably will be completed in another month, according to L. B.
