Well Known Residents Dispose 4 Business Interests. Colonel and Mrs. W. J. Fife will leave about the 1st of April for San Francisco, where they will spend the summer. The Fifes have sold their splendid line of goods to the merchants of ths place. The Fifes came here among the first and built up a fine and prosperous business. They made many good and loyal friends, and their one motto was to give everyone a “square deal,” and attend strictly to their own business. In this way they won out, as they always have done and will do, we hope, as long as they live. They came here on account of the health of Mrs. Fife, and when that mission was accomplished there were other fields of greater inducements open to them, and as their two boys are at the Union Iron Works in San Francisco, they felt their first duty was to them. Money-making is a Sec ond consideration to them, and they have always gone on the theory that srains outweigh the money bags. We doubt if there is a man on the Pacific coast, from the goldfields of Alaska to the sunny south on the Mex ican Hine, that is better known and has more staunch, loyal, true friends that Colonel William J. Fife, who has been quietly in our midst during the last nine months. A giant among men, a splendid citizen, and an honor to any community
