CAPE NEWS.Wo have been favoured by Captain CANNY, oi tbe Enchantress, with Cape papers down to the 4th of January, inclusive, from which we subjoin some of the moat interesting extracts :—A most distressing accident bad befallen the Sophia, whaler, which arrived in Table Bay on the 2Mh of December last. She sailed from London on the18th of December, 1B30, and not being successful in the neighbourhood of the Seychelles, touched at one of the Malie Islands for refreshments, and proceeded to tbe Northward. In lat. 3 ® 20’ S.— long. 49® 12' E., the first and sciond mates went in pursuit of whales, with two boats, the Captain having cautioned them not to lose sight of the vessel.
