Joseph Knapp, 28, of 317 W. Genesee St. and Lewis Dyer, 24, of 135 Manila SL, charged with a beating and robbing a cab driver, twere indicted today by the March grand jury. The jury handed up seven open and 14 closed indictments in Itz trial report to Supreme Court Justice Donald P. Gorman, Knapp and Dyer were Indicted for first degree robbery, second degree assault, and fist degree grand lovorsy. On Jan. 29 they are alleged to have beaten a Yetes taxi driver and robbing sum at knife point of $27. The robbery took place ‘secluded place near Newton where the sab deer was or dered to take them. The driver was ordered out of the cab, but then Krepp and Dyer picked him up and drove him back to the city. They fled, dropping the cab keys on the ground, but were picked up by police the same night. Ronald J. Hinman, 20, of 1661 W, Onondaga St, was indicted for first degree grand larceny. He is charged with stealing a car valued at $900 on Feb 15. Calvin A. Confer, 19, of 349 Baker Ave, and Gerald D. Whit ney, 17, no address given, were indicted for receiving stolen prop erty. The item in this case was the car stolen by Hinman. It was recommended Whitney defeated as a youthful offender, Samuel E. Lewis, 33, of 6085. McBride Sr. and David J. Straughter, 31, at the Rescue Mis sion, were indicted for third de cree burglary. ‘They are charged! [with breaking into a gas station: s at 1335 Erie Blvd, E., on Feb. 27.) Richard F. Syres, 21, of the State School, was indicted for sec ond degree grand larceny. On March 9 he is charged with steal ing a truck owned by Placide _Micate, 4002 W. Genesee St.
