Point Pleasant. Old Winter is with us again, the weather being the coldest we have had this winter. The fruit in this section is supposed to be entirely destroyed. Dr. Veters, whose messs has been previous ly mentioned is still improving and hopes are now entertained of his recovery Mr. John W. Spaid Jr., formerly teacher of our schools at this place, will start today (Wednesday) for Barton county Missoni, to engage in teaching. As a teacher Mr. S. has few peers, his services as teacher here are high ly appreciated, and while we regret the loss of such estimable young men, we bespeark for him the confidence of the community in which he may operate We neglected in our last to mention the addi tional strength at the Elk House and will say that ye jolly host. Mr. HW Secrest has taken un to himself a partner in the person of Miss Cla ra Knowlton of Zinesville O. who is giving a home-like appearance to the hotel Mr J. J. Teener has retired from the Boot and shoe manufacturing business and will shortly engage in other pursuits Mr. J. Ar nold succeeds Mr Teener and will continue the manufacture of Boots and Shoes at the old stand formerly occupied by Mr. Teener. Dr. W. E. Conner, our village vendor of Ju mp and Liver Pills will shortly remove to Stewarts on the Ohio River to engage in the practice of medicine. The T. A. Muzzy goes to Cambridge today for the benefit of delegates attending the conven tion, as well as to carry a few candidates for Sheriff who desire to set up their claims before that honorable body.
