An act to incorporate the Trustees of the Female Orphans’ Society of An napolis. ’ Whereas, Mrs. Elizabeth Mayna dier, Mrs. Rebecca Nicholson, Mrs. Prudence G. tKidout, Mrs. Amelia Pinkney, Mrs. Blanchard, Mrs. Eliza beth. Bowie, Mrs. Ann Stockett, Miss Elizabeth Mills, Miss Ann Franklin, Miss Mary Done, Mrs. Mary Green, Mrs. 5. A. Brewer, and other respec table ladies in the city of Annapolis, have associated by the name of the Fe male Orphan Society, for the benevo lent purpose of rendering chariable aid as far as may be in their power, to destitute to..are orphans; the better to enable them to carry into effect their benevolent purpose have prayed that Trustees of the said Society may be incorporated with power to receive, hold, and dispose of contributions ,do nations, gifts, grants and devises of all kinds of property, estate, and eeds, to a limited amount, in trust for the purpose alorvs did, therefore, Be it enacted by the General Assem bly of Maryland, that Samuel Ridout, Doctor John Ridgely, Colonel Henry Magnadier, Doctor John Ridout, and Thomas 8. Alexander, and their suc cessors in office elected in the manner hereinafter, provided, shall be and they are hereby incorporated and made a body politic, by the name of the Trus tees of the Female Orphan Society of the city of Annapolis; and of that name shall have perpetual succession, not be capable in law of receive and lathe in trust, and of using and dis ing of, as 18 hereinafter , provided for, eft kinds of gifts, grants, convey ances, donations and devises of estate, real , personal and mixed, property and,
