The skit, to be performed for children in the area, was prepared by the Service League Volunteers. (Photoby Emile Navarre.)COVINGTON - The Greater Covington Junior Service League in conjunction with the St. Tammany Humane Society, has prepared a presentation to inform children of the services and activities of the St. Tammany Humane Society Animal Shelter.The presentation was performed for the Board of Directors of the Humane Society at their board meeting last week, and the performances were started Thursday morning at Head Start.The ladies that volunteered to work on this educational program are Mrs. Michael Hill. Mrs. James Valliant, Mrs. Dan Hendricks. Mrs. Rusty Burns, Mrs. Richard Wolf and Mrs. Dennis MeCloskey.With the aid of Mrs. Thelma Henry, Humane Society Animal Shelter director the ladies prepared an original skit to dramatize proper treatment of pets along with a complete poster show used to help the children understand care of animals.A coloring sheet depicting kindness to animals will be given to each child viewing the skit.For further information on this presentation contact the St. Tammany Humane Society Shelter at 892-0551.Because quick breads baked in a microwave oven do not brown in the way they do when baked in a conventional oven, it is a good idea to choose a recipe that yields a dark batter or dough.
