Vol. 1 No. 33 66Pases Fort Walton Beach, Fla.A mother and child were killed at noon Saturday near the Highway 98 entrance to Hurl-burt Field, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.FHP Cpl. E.W. Reeder reported that Mrs. Maria San Segundo Bishop, 33, of 191 Rose Marie Lane died instantly as a result of injuries suffered in the collision.Tw’o of the four Bishop children were riding in the car with Mrs. Bishop at the time of collision and reported dead is Elizabeth age 5, Reeder noted.Patricia Bishop, age 3 is listed in satisfactory condition at the Eglin AFB Hospital following surgery. Patricia suffered a broken arm and multiple cuts and bruises, Reeder said The two other Bishop children Michael age 8 and David, one, were home when the accident occured.Reeder said that the Bishop vehicle was traveling east prior to the collision and apparently crossed the two lanes in the east bound side of the highway before weeving over the paved median strip and colliding with a car driven by Sgt. David Stone of Eglin AFB.Stone was not seriously injured during the collision, Ree-d e r explained. Damage to Stone’s 1969 sedan was listed at $1,000. He was travelling alone at the time of collision.Mrs. Bishop’s car, a 1968 sedan, was listed as a total loss, Reeder said.Trooper F.L. Mills, of the Florida Highway Patrol homicide division, reported that Mrs. Bishop’s husband, Tech. Sgt. J.C.R. Bishop, was notified at Lockbourne AFB, Ohio.
